Girl killed in Bradford house fire named locally as people pay tribute

The little girl who died in a house fire in Bradford that also injured her three brothers and her mother has been named locally as people across the region pay tribute to her.

She was named locally as ten-year-old Eliza. The girl was discovered following a house fire on Kingsdale Drive in Bradford.




Three other children, aged three, six and 11, along with a 37-year-old woman, managed to escape. West Yorkshire Police were called at 1.05am and found the fourth child dead inside. Neighbors were seen laying flowers and paying their respects.

Yesterday, one said: “I am devastated to hear that there has been a tragedy.” Another added: “It’s really sad, especially after watching them play.”

A neighbor said: “I said it was the girls’ bedroom – I called the fire brigade. I didn’t know they had already released three. The firemen entered directly”.


Now, more tributes have emerged for the young girl. Laura Reast simply said, “It’s heartbreaking.”
