Locals’ ‘horror’ at Coventry state park littered with ‘industrial amounts of rubbish’

Locals have spoken of their “horror” at the state of a Coventry park littered with “industrial amounts of rubbish”. A resident said the play area in Stoke Green Park was left with so much litter that people will not be able to enjoy it on Bank Holiday Monday.

Locals blamed families and park visitors for the mess at Tick-Tock Park, which was left with garbage bags and trash strewn near the play area. He contacted CoventryLive and said: “I walked past the play area yesterday very happy to see it full of families and children enjoying the nice weather and a picnic.

“To my horror when I drove by this morning I was shocked to see where industrial quantities of rubbish left by those families were found. What values ​​do they instill in their children? Imagine someone wanting to enjoy that park today?”

He went on to add that the state of the park was not in line with the Keep Britain Tidy campaign. Tick-Tock Park is popular with children of all ages with play equipment for both the oldest and the youngest.

The play area opened in 2012 after a £56,000 grant was secured from the Big Lottery Fund to help pay for the installation of the play area.
