Early squad news: Two squad members confirmed for Tottenham v Manchester City (Premier League)

Manchester City continue their quest for the Premier League title with a decisive clash against Tottenham in north London on Tuesday night.

Pep Guardiola’s side can take a major step towards a fourth consecutive Premier League with a win in midweek, while Manchester City look to go within two points of Arsenal with a win at Tottenham.

Manchester City, who have never won or even scored in the Premier League at the new Tottenham Hotspur Stadium, beat Spurs 0-1 in the Emirates FA Cup in January thanks to a late goal from Nathan Ake.

The Dutchman’s involvement in Tuesday night’s game is still in doubt after Ake was withdrawn through injury in the first half of Saturday’s 0-4 win over Fulham at Craven Cottage.

On a more positive note in the competition, Josko Gvardiol continued his recent outstanding goalscoring form with a brace in the win, with Phil Foden and Julian Alvarez also on the scoresheet.

Foden also scored during the Blues’ 3-3 draw with Tottenham in the reverse fixture at the Etihad Stadium in December as Manchester City were denied the three points by Dejan Kulusevski’s header.

Manchester City have not beaten Tottenham away in the Premier League since October 2018, although Pep Guardiola’s side remain unbeaten since the start of December 2023 in a stunning run of form that has brought them into this position.

Ahead of another crucial clash in the capital and our penultimate fixtures of the season, several Manchester City players have been confirmed in the starting lineup, with the first details provided by Simon Bajkowski on X.

Ange Postecoglou and Pep Guardiola are expected to confirm their starting line-ups for Tottenham and Manchester City at around 7pm (UK) on Tuesday evening.
