Cornwall Ontario – There has never been a better time to choose to live in Cornwall and no better way to discover the region than with a copy of Cornwall Living. The long awaited magazine is off the press and now available locally.

Eastern Ontario Charm: In the Pages of Cornwall Living Magazine

“The magazine reflects the community very well,” said Richard Mahoney, editor of the Seaway News. “It shows how the community can come together and have a very impressive quality publication. It’s colorful, the context is excellent. The whole city should be proud.”

The cover story features Walmart Canada celebrating 30 years in Canada. Cornwall was one of the retailer’s original stores in 1994, and since then the company has repeatedly invested in the town. Today, the company continues to pursue innovation and provides career opportunities to its more than 2,500 employees who work at its two massive distribution centers in Cornwall, the local supercenter and in fleet operations.

“The front cover of Cornwall Living magazine celebrates Walmart, a company that is our largest employer in Cornwall and has been in the community for 30 years,” says Mayor Justin Towndale. “The magazine is a great annual asset to the city, highlighting our achievements and success so we can celebrate together.”

The 2024 edition of Cornwall Living marks the 31st year that Seaway News has published a magazine celebrating life in Cornwall. This year’s edition again features compelling stories and visually stunning photographs that touch on all aspects of life in the area – including business, sports, the arts and more.

Cornwall Living magazine has been a great tradition in our area for many years and is one of the best tools we have to promote our area and the good people and great things that happen here,” said MP Eric Duncan. “I always take a box for my office and when I’m around the country and beyond I take a few copies just to let people know about Cornwall and the area and what we have to offer.”

The 100-page magazine includes feature articles on a variety of topics. Some of the key stories include:

  • Choice Cornwall – Young professionals following routes to Cornwall
  • Rooms Without Doors – A profile on local artist Pierre Giroux
  • Out of the Box – Entrepreneurs who challenge traditional business models
  • For the Love of Sport – A profile on local minor sports
  • 1784 – 240 years since Cornwall
  • Gypsy Melodies – A profile on local songstress Roxanne Delage
  • Ice Level – A Robert Lefebvre pictorial
  • Business Excellence Award Winners
  • Share this – dozens of photos from local residents
  • An 8-page section in French profiling the local Francophone community
  • and more…

More than anything else, Cornwall Living profiles the success of individuals in all areas of life.

Cornwall Living magazine has been around for over three decades and is one of our key pieces in reaching out around the world and telling people what a great place Cornwall is and the area to invest, live, work, play,” says Bob Peters , Economic Development Manager. “The magazine finds its way to embassies, Tourism Ontario, businesses, investors and almost every country in the world. It’s just an amazing collaboration between advertisers, Seaway News and the great people who make this community a great place to live. Every page in the magazine is created in-house, featuring local talent.”

Mr. Mahoney took over for longtime editor Rick Shaver, who retired earlier this year. Cornwall Living was Mr. Shaver’s final project in a journalism career. Cornwall Living the magazine is again designed and edited by Colleen Parette, and many of the photos were taken by local photographers. The magazine has a total circulation of over 30,000 copies.
