Kirkstall: Leeds ParkyPING – Table Tennis Group
Ping Pong Pete coaches a ParkyPING session

Leeds ParkyPING!, a table tennis club for people living with Parkinson’s disease, is opening for a second regular session in West Leeds after a successful first year.

Parky PING! meets at St. Stephen’s Church, Kirkstall, on the first and third Mondays of each month. The new Tuesday session will follow the same pattern, starting Tuesday, August 6.

It is now recognized that exercise is the best, perhaps the only, way to slow Parkinson’s symptoms. And table tennis is one of the best forms of exercise for this purpose. Besides being aerobic, table tennis helps with balance, hand-eye coordination, reflexes and split-second decision making.

Members of Leeds ParkyPING! they meet to beat and talk together. The group includes women and men of all abilities, from complete beginners to people who play and used to play in the Leeds Table Tennis League.

If you or someone you know has Parkinson’s and would like to join the group, please get in touch via Leeds ParkyPING! website or by email: [email protected].
