Child charged after ‘knife attack’ on boy at Haymarket bus station in Leicester

A 15-year-old boy has been charged with wounding with intent after a teenager was “attacked” at Leicester’s Haymarket bus station. Leicestershire Police said its officers were called to the area at 3.30pm on Monday (May 13) where they found a 17-year-old boy with injuries to his arm and leg.

The teenager was reported to have suffered the injuries after being “attacked with a knife by another man”, a police spokesman said. His injuries were not thought to be life-threatening or life-changing. The injured boy was hospitalized and has since been discharged, the spokesman added.

The 15-year-old was also charged with threatening another person with a bladed article in connection with the same incident and possession of a bladed article, the force said.

He was remanded in custody and is due to appear at Leicester Magistrates’ Court today (Wednesday, May 15).
