Bill Belichick “takes the f***” out of Birmingham City for being demoted on Netflix’s Tom Brady Roast

Birmingham City was caught in the crossfire when Bill Belichick roasted Tom Brady on Netflix.

The Blues were relegated to League One on Saturday after their 1-0 win over Norwich proved not enough to save them, earning them a place in the third tier for the first time since 1995.

But while Birmingham fans were still licking their wounds from a heartbreaking weekend, their co-owner, NFL legend Tom Brady, was roasted on Netflix – and the Blues got a… special mention.

Netflix’s latest edition of ‘The Greatest Roast of All Time’ saw Brady, a seven-time Super Bowler, get busted by a number of big names, including Kim Kardashian and Will Ferrell, the latter being, also followed in Brady’s footsteps and bought an EFL. club.

But the one Blues fans took note of was Brady’s legendary New England Patriots coach Bill Belichick, who jokingly ripped the club after last weekend’s demotion.

Addressing Brady while on stage in front of a large audience, Belichick said: “I see your Birmingham City football team has been taken down to another level in the English Football League, so you know.

“For those unfamiliar with English football, due to the complexity of their obscure system of rules, let me say, or I’ll put it in English for you, they’re hell!”

The audience then burst into laughter and Brady also left with a huge grin plastered on his face.

He then appeared to respond, off-mic, asking, “Do you want to train them?”

But Belichick continued, adding, “It’s not that easy to run a team, it’s Tom!”

Brady and Belichick won six Super Bowls together with the New England Patriots, dominating the NFL for two decades.

However, their time together ended on slightly sour terms, with Brady wanting to stay with New England in 2019, only for Belichick to believe the aging quarterback was past his prime.

Brady went on to win a Super Bowl with Tampa Bay, retiring there in 2022. Meanwhile, Belichick left the Patriots in January of this year, marking the end of his 24 years there.

There have been plenty of stories regarding friction between the pair in recent years. It’s no wonder fans were excited when they heard they would be reuniting for the hit Netflix show.

Meanwhile, Blues fans also saw the funny side of the NFL legends’ joke.

“Bill Belichick takes the Bears out of Birmingham City because he got demoted at the Brady Roast,” one fan wrote on X. “When we win the Champions League in 2030, this will be the first clip in the winners story montage.”

Another said: “We are massive!!! Keep Right On”.

Brady partnered with US-based Knighthead Capital Management LLC, which completed the takeover of Birmingham last August. They own 45.64% of the club.
