Strictly Come Dancing’s Dan Walker forced to miss training after head injury sends him back to hospital

Dan Walker he was forced to take time out of Strictly Come Dancing training after he had to return to hospital with a head injury.

The BBC Breakfast The presenter previously revealed he broke into a hotel’s glass door this week after rushing to retrieve his wallet which he left in a taxi.

However, late on Friday, Dan revealed he had to make another visit to A&E for scans as he was still feeling “a bit wobbly”.

While Dan said a CT scan confirmed he was fine, he has been instructed to rest for several days, meaning he risks falling behind his fellow Strictly contestants as they prepare for the first live show from next Saturday.

Sharing photos of himself in hospital, Dan wrote on Instagram: ‘Bit of head based drama today! After hitting the large glass window yesterday I was sent to A & E today as I was feeling a bit wobbly.

“A lovely nurse at Barnet Hospital called Karina checked my vitals and consultant Erik Witt did a CT scan to check for bleeding on the brain. Fortunately…everything ok.”

He continued: “I’ve got to rest for a few days – so I’ll be a bit behind – but ready to go again next week.”

Dan paid tribute to his yet-to-be-announced Strictly dance partner, revealing he “waited in the car park for hours to make sure I was OK”.

“Whatever happens on television … she has a girlfriend for life,” he added.

Filming on this year’s pre-recorded Strictly launch show was completed last week, with the episode airing on Saturday night.

All 15 of this year’s celebrities will find out who their dance partner is, while also performing their first group number.

Strictly Come Dancing is on Saturdays at 7.45pm on BBC One.
