Britain has warned of an “intense” heatwave with three parts of England the hottest

Just in time for temperatures to soar to 23 degrees Celsius as the sun finally comes out and Britain enjoys a heatwave. WXCharts maps and charts, designed using Met Desk data, suggest temperatures could reach 23C this Friday.

London, Birmingham and Northampton could be hit by the “most intense heat”. Met Office meteorologist Ellie Glaisyer said: “Generally it will be a lot more settled this week. It will start to feel much nicer with temperatures on Tuesday reaching the early twenties in the south.

“And then later in the week we could see temperatures around 22 to 23 degrees Celsius, with the north likely to reach temperatures in the teens.” Exacta Weather’s James Madden said: “Beyond this and early next week we will see high pressure take over.”

The meteorologist continued: “And this will bring a gradual increase in temperature readings to something much warmer than average and potentially warm for the time of year and next week and at least into mid-May. .”

In a mid-week update, Netweather TV explained on its blog: “High pressure will build through Tuesday and Wednesday, bringing warm and sunny weather to most of England and Wales and temperatures in the 20s.

“However, there will still be a scattering of sharp showers on Tuesday, most likely to affect the Midlands and northern England in particular. It will be generally cloudier in Scotland and Northern Ireland, but with some brighter spells and rain. will affect north and north-west Scotland on Wednesday’.

The weather is then set to intensify towards the weekend, with scorching weather expected at times across the UK from Friday.
