Motorcyclist injured in car crash on road closed near Twycross Zoo

A motorcyclist has been injured following a car crash which closed a road near Twycross Zoo. The A444 Norton-Juxta-Twycross between the Twycross Zoo entrance and Orton Lane/Hill was closed for just over three hours on Sunday (May 5).

A collision with a car followed on the main road near the popular visitor attraction. A spokesman for Leicestershire Police said the motorcyclist had to be taken to hospital.

“Police were called to a report of a collision involving a car and a motorbike at 11.50am,” the spokesman said. “The motorcyclist – a male – was taken to hospital with non-life threatening injuries.

“The road was fully reopened just after 3 p.m. No arrests were made.”
