Latest Eurovision odds with ‘all eyes on one act’

Ireland’s Eurovision entry Bambie Thug has improved his chances of winning the competition in Sweden. The Cork-born singer competes in the semi-final at the Malmo Arena on Tuesday with Doomsday Blue and looks increasingly likely to be the first Irish contestant of 2018 to reach the final.

Ladbrokes say they are given 1/25 odds to qualify, with 8/1 placed on them to win the semi-finals.

Alex Apati of Ladbrokes said: “All eyes are on Bambie Thug right now and our traders are clearly convinced that Ireland have a strong chance of making it all the way to Sweden.”

The bookies have also reduced the odds from 16/1 to just 9/1 for Bambie to win. Croatia’s Baby Lasagne with the infectious Rim Tim Tagi Dim is 8/11, while Switzerland’s Nemo with opera-infused dance piece The Code is priced at 7/2. Britain’s Olly Alexander with Dizzy attracted the bookies odds of 66/1.
