The McDonald’s worker says it’s simple to get fresh food every time you visit

A McDonald’s worker who spent a decade working behind the counter has revealed a tip for customers to ensure they get fresh food every time they visit. The fast food specialist, who identifies himself as JB4T5gamemusic on Reddit, shared his extensive knowledge and secrets from his ten years of service after leaving the industry around seven years ago.

He pointed out that McDonald’s is famous for its practice of preparing food and keeping it warm. However, this may mean that you do not necessarily receive the freshest meal available when you place your order.

The former McDonald’s employee clarified that the restaurant’s fast service is largely due to storing pre-cooked items in warming cabinets for a period. Although this practice does not affect the taste, those people who are particularly keen on the freshness of the food can use a simple trick shared by the previous staff, reports the Irish Star.

The former employee advises customers ordering meat or fries to ask for them without salt to ensure they are fresh on the spot. Because McDonald’s staff “must salt and season every piece of beef that crosses the grill and every fry that takes a drink in the fryer, requesting unsalted items turns your regular order into a special request, guaranteeing freshly cooked food for meets your specifications”.

Another advantage of using this technique is that your food will get the treatment of being prepared on a clean grill. McDonald’s recently updated its cooking techniques to improve “all the elements that customers enjoy most,” which includes the introduction of softer buns and more flavorful onions.

In stores in the UK and Ireland, onions are now added to the top of each patty as it is grilled, infusing extra flavor and altering the browning of the beef patties, among other changes. As for the famous McDonald’s fries, the brand ensures that they are always served hot to patrons.

The fast food giant explained: “When our suppliers partially fry the fries, they use an oil blend that contains beef flavoring… The fries are cooked in our kitchens, seasoned with salt and served hot.
