Former Ajax boss Alfred Schreuder is leading the race for the Leeds job

What the newspapers say

The Telegraph report that former Ajax manager Alfred Schreuder is top of the list to be the new boss at Leeds. The 50-year-old was at Elland Road with his manager on Sunday, where they saw the Whites go down 2-0 to Manchester United. Leeds have already failed to sign Arne Slot from Feyenoord, Carlos Corberan from West Brom and Andoni Iraola from Rayo Vallecano since sacking Jesse Marsch.

Keeping Jordan Pickford at Everton is said to be a significant priority for new manager Sean Dyche. The Sun say Dyche wants the 28-year-old England goalkeeper to stay at Goodison Park despite strong interest in the custodian and his contract expiring next year.

.The departure of Nathan Jones to Southampton has opened up the possibility of another move for Torino coach Ivan Juric. Saints wanted to sign the Croatian last year but he was deemed too expensive, although the Mail report that the 47-year-old could now be heading to St Mary’s. The club are also interested in Marsch and Nottingham Forest’s Steve Cooper, who signed a contract until 2025 in October.

Liverpool scouts have put a new goalkeeping talent at the top of their wish-list, according to the Sun. The paper says that backup Caoimhin Kelleher is likely to leave Anfield in the summer, with the Reds eyeing Anderlecht’s 20-year-old Bart Verbruggan as potential competition for first-choice Alisson Becker.
