Tribute to ‘wonderful father, devoted husband and biggest Leeds fan’ killed in pub attack

Tributes have poured in for a Leeds United fan who was killed in an attack at a Leeds pub over the bank holiday weekend.

Robert Hiscoe, 37, was rushed to hospital after he was badly assaulted at The Butterbowl in Farnley in the early hours of Sunday morning (May 5). Despite the efforts of doctors to save him, he unfortunately died from his injuries.

Tributes and messages poured in for Robert on social media. The 37-year-old is believed to have left behind a wife and children and was a “talented singer” who previously performed at the pub where he was tragically killed. It is also understood that Robert used his musical talents to raise thousands of pounds for the NHS during the Covid-19 lockdown.

Several tributes also mention that the “devoted father” was also a “loyal” Leeds United fan. A post shared on a Leeds United Facebook group that Robert was a member of said: “29,000 members but we’ve lost one, today we lost a friend, one of the biggest Leeds fans I’ve ever known. He raised thousands for the NHS in isolation and sang his heart out wherever he went.

“Words cannot express what it means to this club, your friends and family. We will love and remember you forever.”

Jordan Webb wrote: “Always there to support others. Such a sad day for all who knew you Rip Robert Hiscoe.”

Paul Wilson said: “I don’t know where to start, a talented singer, a great friend, a wonderful father, a devoted husband and one of the most loyal Leeds United fans I have ever met, so I we are talking about an incredible drink. mate… Not many people I know will ever be loved as well as you, light up any room with your charming ways and never bring anyone down, for nothing.
