Live updates as the road is closed and warning issued after the building fire

A road is closed and people have been urged to avoid the area after a building fire in Aigburth.

Merseyside Fire and Rescue Service warned that crews were in attendance on Alexandra Drive this morning, Wednesday, and that six pumps were in attendance.

People were warned to avoid the area and traffic management system Inrix said the road was closed in both directions.
