Royal Enfield 350cc Bobber Design Patented — Launching This Year – Bike News

According to an earlier trademark filed by Royal Enfield, the upcoming Bobber is likely to be called the Goan Classic 350.

Royal Enfield has its plate full with upcoming products in the 350cc, 450cc and 650cc categories. In the entry-level 350cc range, the Chennai-based bike maker currently markets four models, including the Classic, Bullet, Meteor and Hunter. The brand will add at least one more model to this category in the form of the upcoming bobber.

The upcoming 350cc bobber has been tested several times over the past year on Indian roads. Now, Enfield has officially filed design patents for the bike. An image of the patent has gone viral on the internet and looks very familiar to the test mules spotted earlier.

Royal Enfield 350cc Bobber: Design

While most of the design is carried over from the Classic 350, there are certain visual elements that give it a distinct appeal. For example, the handlebars are very high and pulled in towards the rider, just like a real bobber. Furthermore, the bike is expected to come as a standard single seater, but in the patent the bike gets an additional seat, similar to the one seen on the Shotgun 650.

The removable passenger seat is mounted on the rear sub-frame, which could also double as a sub-frame as a tail rack. The passenger seat is accompanied by split support rails. Aided by forward-mounted footpegs, the bike is set to offer a comfortable riding position on the back, but not like a full-fledged cruiser. The bike sits on 18-inch wire-spoke wheels with white painted sidewalls.

Other visual highlights include a round headlamp with tiger-eye position lamps, a teardrop-shaped fuel tank, triangular side panels, a wide rear wing and a parallel side exhaust. Overall, the bike gives the look of a traditional American helicopter.

Royal Enfield 350cc Bobber: Specs and Expected Features

In terms of features, Enfield’s 350cc bobber will offer halogen lighting, a USB charger and analogue instruments with a small digital insert. In terms of hardware, suspension duties will be handled by conventional telescopic front forks and dual rear shock absorbers. Braking equipment will consist of front and rear disc brakes assisted by dual-channel ABS as standard.

Powering the future Bobber will be the same 349cc J-series engine that was used in the current 350cc range. This engine churns out 20.2 PS and 27 Nm of peak torque while mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
