Norwich City have provided a double injury boost ahead of their play-off semi-final with Leeds United

Norwich City boss David Wagner expects both Jonathan Rowe and Christian Fassnacht to be fit for the Championship play-off semi-final against Leeds United.

The Whites travel to Carrow Road on Sunday lunchtime hoping to replicate their two league successes over the Canaries this season. Daniel Farke also expects to have both Patrick Bamford and Daniel James available for the East Anglia game.

Both Leeds forwards missed the final day defeat to Southampton at Elland Road. Crysencio Summerville is also expected to be fit after falling victim to a late tackle against Saints.

Wagner’s update on the fitness of Fassnacht and Rowe provides an attacking boost for the hosts this weekend. The Swiss international was absent on the final day of the trip to relegated Birmingham City, having not been risked ahead of the play-offs.

Rowe, 21, missed 11 games towards the end of the campaign with a hamstring injury picked up by Queens Park Rangers. The England U21 international has scored 12 goals this season and has been limited to substitute appearances in the last four games as he continues to develop his fitness.

Wagner admitted he resisted the temptation to start Rowe for their trip to St. Andrew’s @ Knighthead Park last Saturday, bringing him on for the last half hour of the defeat to the Blues. However, his reasoning was based on “limited” forward options and the young winger’s fitness ahead of the Leeds tie.
