Man attacked and another threatened by woman with knife outside Halifax bank

Two people have been arrested after a man was threatened and another attacked outside a bank in Cornwall. Officers were called to reports of an altercation in Trelowarren Street, Camborne, at around 11.05am on Tuesday (May 7).

A woman, believed to be wielding a knife, made threats to a man. Another person was also attacked by a man. The victim suffered injuries that are not believed to be serious.



Two people, both from Camborne, have been arrested in connection with this incident. A 40-year-old woman was arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

A man in his 30s was also arrested on suspicion of assault, ABH and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place. Both were released on bail until June 11.

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called at 11.05am on Tuesday 7 May to reports of an altercation on Trelowarren Street, Camborne. A woman, believed to be in possession of a knife, allegedly made threats to a man.

“Another man was also assaulted by a male suspect. The victim suffered injuries that are not considered serious. Officers attended. A 40-year-old woman from Camborne has been arrested on suspicion of affray and possession of an offensive weapon in a public place.

“A man in his 30s, also from Camborne, was arrested on suspicion of assaulting ABH and possessing an offensive weapon in a public place. Both have been released on bail until June 11.”
