Leicester are too ‘loaded’ to sack boss Brendan Rodgers

‘Cash-strapped’ Leicester calculate cost of sacking Brendan Rodgers after the club suffered a sixth straight defeat, plunging them to the bottom of the Premier League, according to The Sun. The 49-year-old is one of the highest-paid managers in Britain and would cost Leicester more than £10m to get rid of him.

Bayern Munich defender Benjamin Pavard was tempted to leave the German club during the summer transfer window, with Manchester United, Chelsea, Paris St Germain, Atletico Madrid and Juventus all keen on the 26-year-old right-back. While the France international has not confirmed which clubs are in the running for him, the Evening Standard write, via Telefoot, that Erik ten Haag he was eager to bring him to Old Trafford.

The same newspapers say that RB Salzburg insisted Christoph Freund he will not leave them amid reports that Chelsea are close to appointing him as their new sporting director. Co-owners of the west London club Todd Boehly and Behdad Eghbali they held talks with the 45-year-old man and it is claimed a verbal agreement was reached.

And the Daily Mirror claim Bayern Munich have a “secret” release clause for their embattled young manager Julian Nagelsmann after the club went four games without a win. As pressure mounts on the 35-year-old’s future, availability Thomas Tuchel apparently he “stirred the pot further”.
