Rio Ferdinand tells Jamie Vardy to play one more season in the Premier League before transferring to end his career in Hollywood.

Should he decide to leave the King Power Stadium, Wrexham have been linked with a bold move.

However, Ferdinand believes the striker deserves another shot at England’s top flight.

Speaking on the Vibe with FIVE YouTube series, the former defender said: “He needs to play one more season in the Premier League.

“I want to see him get a few goals in the Premier League, that’s nice.”

Leicester secured the Championship title with a 3-0 win over Preston last week.

The Foxes are now set to make a triumphant return to the Prem, just a year after suffering relegation.

Vardy joined Leicester from Fleetwood Town in 2012 and has since made 464 senior appearances.

He helped the club win a historic Premier League title in 2016 and the FA Cup in 2021.

Vardy is still a key player for Leicester City

But although he is now in the final stages of his career, the 37-year-old has no plans to retire just yet.

Vardy has been heavily linked with a move to Wrexham in recent weeks.

The move would see him join Hollywood co-owners Ryan Reynolds and Rob McElhenney in Wales.

Wrexham chief executive Humphrey Ker refused to rule out a transfer.

He told SPORTbible: “There’s nothing to say that Jamie Vardy wouldn’t be a great player at Wrexham.

“It’s not a name I’ve mentioned before in the building. But, you know, age and profile wouldn’t let us down.”

Ferdinand believes Wrexham would be the perfect destination for Vardy if he decides to leave Leicester.

The United icon added: “The only club I want him to go to if he leaves is Wrexham.

“It’s got the Hollywood feel, and he’s had a career in Hollywood.”

Before joining Leicester, Vardy spent several years playing non-league football.

As well as spending time with Fleetwood, he also played for Halifax Town and Stocksbridge Park Steels.
