Sheffield DocFest announces 2024 program including Tilda Swinton’s directorial debut, talks by Idris Elba, Walter Murch, Roger Ross Williams

Sheffield DocFest, the UK’s premier non-fiction film festival, has today revealed the full line-up for its 31st edition, which runs from 12-17 June. Among the highlights: the world premiere of Tilda Swinton’s directorial debut, The Hexagonal Hive and a Mouse in a Maze, co-directed by Bartek Dziadosz.

In the film, which premieres in International Competition, Swinton and Dziadosz “travel the world to understand what it means to learn, and along the way discover playful food for thought – for adults and youth alike.” Swinton previously directed segments of the documentaries The Seasons In Quincy: Four Portraits of John Berger (2016) and The New Ten Commandments (2008).
