Man charged with baseball bat attack in South Bristol

A man has appeared in court charged with a number of offenses following an incident involving a baseball bat in South Bristol.

Ervin Baka was remanded in custody following his first appearance at Bristol Crown Court on Bank Holiday Monday, May 6. The 21-year-old from Horfield has been charged with three offenses in relation to an incident in Knowle West last month.



Baka, who was arrested by Avon and Somerset Police on Friday (May 3), has been charged with assault occasioning actual bodily harm, possessing an offensive weapon – a baseball bat – in public and threatening a person with an offensive weapon – a baseball bat. – in public.

Baka did not enter a plea and was remanded in custody to appear at Bristol Crown Court on June 12.

A spokesman for Avon and Somerset Police said the charges follow an incident which took place between 6pm and 7pm on Thursday, April 18, in Newquay Road, in which a man in his 30s suffered a broken nose and bruises.
