Big birthday events to mark the 10th anniversary of Coventry’s Creative Quarter

Big anniversary plans have been revealed to mark the 10th anniversary of Coventry’s Creative Quarter. FarGo Village will celebrate its first decade in September and has lined up a series of events to mark the occasion.

Out of The Box Arts Fair X PopBangColour Car Fest will open the festivities in FarGo Village on Far Gosford Street from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 1st June and from 11am to 4pm on Sunday 2nd June . There will be a diverse range of local visual and sensory artists alongside unique machines on display in collaboration with PopBangColour and Rustival as part of MotoFest 2024, which also marks its tenth anniversary.




This will be followed next weekend by FarGo’s Dog Festival, in association with Broken Souls Rescue Charity, from 10.30am to 5pm on Saturday 8 June. The Coventry charity will host a fundraising stall where all proceeds will go towards essential veterinary services, boarding. and care costs for dogs in need.

There will be an opportunity for visitors to treat their four-legged friends to pupacinos, take part in paw art activities and an agility arena, as well as cool off in a refreshing dog pool. The busy summer calendar continues with the Summer Makers Market in the Square from 11am to 5pm on Saturday 20 July and 11am to 4pm on Sunday 21 July.

This is an opportunity to indulge in a summer showcase of the best local and regional makers, artists and designers, offering a weekend full of independent shopping delights. The month ends with the Oxford Beard Festival in FarGo Village, which is a wonderful opportunity to celebrate all aspects of facial hair!

The event, from noon to 6pm on Saturday 27 July, will feature categories for handmade beards and imaginative bearded characters, all in aid of FarGo Village’s birth charity partner Coventry and Warwickshire Mind and Zoe’s Place Baby Hospice in Coventry. Holly Hewitt, Manager at FarGo Village, which was developed by regeneration experts Complex Development Projects, said this was a special moment in its history.
