Gemma Collins says doctors have advised her to terminate the pregnancy

Essex star Gemma Collins has revealed she had a miscarriage on doctors’ advice. Speaking on the Everything I Know About Me podcast, the tearful TOWIE star said doctors had advised her to end her pregnancy.

Gemma, who has been open in the past about her struggle to have a baby – and her three miscarriages – said the unborn child was found to be intersex, having both male and female sex organs.

There are estimated to be around 30,000 intersex people in the UK, with the condition occurring in around one in 2,000 births. Gemma told her story as she shared insights into her life, including childhood bullying and struggling with teenage self-harm.

Gemma opened up about taking diet pills at the age of 13 because of bullying at school.

Gemma had her first miscarriage in 2012 and says she didn’t realize she was pregnant until she lost her baby at home. She had a second and third miscarriage in 2020. Gemma has previously spoken about her struggles with fertility caused by battling polycystic ovary syndrome.
