London’s Gatwick Airport has been evacuated following a major UK airport announcement

London Gatwick issued a statement after the airport was evacuated.

Travelers departing from the capital’s airport were stranded outside the South Terminal. Travelers took to social media platform X to submit questions about the long lines at security.




Other travelers preparing to depart London Gatwick shared their frustration. Adam said: “Fire alarm at Gatwick South terminal. All passengers evacuated Airside, no staff know what’s going on. No co-ordination from anyone at the airport. Fun day.”

London Gatwick issued a response to confirm that the South Terminal departure lounge was evacuated after a fire alarm was triggered. A statement read: “Hello, The South Terminal Departure Lounge has been evacuated for a short time due to a fire alarm being activated.

“Our dedicated airport fire service quickly attended and confirmed that there was no fire. Passengers are allowed back into the departure hall. Safety and security is our top priority and we have resolved the situation as quickly as possible. We apologize for any inconvenience.”
