Live: Armed police rush to an emergency incident at the Hayle Hotel

Emergency services are at the scene of an incident in Hayle. According to eyewitnesses, armed police, along with fire engines and ambulances are at the scene in Hayle following reports of a man being concerned inside the Premier Inn.

An eyewitness told CornwallLive: “There are loads of emergency vehicles, armed police.”




A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police are currently at the Premier Inn in Loggans, Hayle due to concerns for a man in a hotel room.

“Negotiators are attempting to engage the male and the incident is ongoing.”

The incident started early this morning

According to an eyewitness, the incident started early this morning (May 9).

They said: “All the emergency services were there at 7.30am. Half the car park has been cordoned off since then.”

The incident is ongoing

Devon and Cornwall Police have confirmed that the incident is currently ongoing.

An eyewitness reports that part of the Premier Inn car park has been “frozen” while emergency services are at the scene.

Police “engaged” with a man in the hotel room

A spokesman for Devon and Cornwall Police said:

Police are currently at the Premier Inn in Loggans, Hayle, due to concerns about a man in a hotel room.

Negotiators try to engage the man and the incident continues.
