Wiltshire manufacturing firm lands £38m MoD contract

Wiltshire-based manufacturer Avon Protection has secured a contract with the Ministry of Defense worth an estimated £38m.

Avon Protection has won the tender for the continued supply of the General Duty Respirator and associated service support for the Ministry of Defence.

Avon has been supplying the Ministry of Defense with GSR masks since 2018 and this new contract award will see the company continue to help protect the lives of those serving in the UK Armed Forces.

The four-year deal, with five further 12-month option periods, is valued at up to £38m.

Richard Bloomfield, Head of Electronic Warfare and CBRN at the MoD’s Defense Equipment and Support, commented: “We welcome the award of this contract, which will ensure continued support for the respiratory protection available to our armed forces.
