How is the business best described?

Here Now Films is one of Cornwall’s leading video production companies specializing in creative micro-documentaries and branded films. Founded by two best friends, Here Now tells the stories of companies trying to make the world a better place. Today I produce documentaries for Likes of BBC World, are the ongoing creative partner of Tate Cornwall and are now in their fourth year of delivering national FatFaces campaigns. They produce films for Britain’s favorite names while based in their seaside studio in Cornwall.

Why was the business founded?

Both Ollie and Ed grew up wanting to be directors, but from completely different directions. Ed, a nature geek who wanted to be the next David Attenborough, and Ollie, a creative and arts lover. Today, this mix of science, nature and art is brought to every shoot and has led them to create documentaries for leading Cornish charities and brand films for companies that make the world a better place.

How does the business compare to competitors in the industry?

It’s always been our dream to bring the quality of the best UK advertising to charities and brands trying to make the world a better place. Rooted in conservation and activism, we actively work with our clients to create films that truly tell their story in the best possible way.

What are the business plans for both the short and long term?

In the short term, Here Now Films seeks to find local stories about people, projects and places that are trying to make the world a better place. This is our reason and why we work. In the long run, we’re taking our little national studio. We already do most of our work in London where we use Cornwall based adverts working at London prices. We want to cement this by bridging the gap between Cornwall and London for creators and filmmakers.

HHow does the business define success?

Obviously, the happiness of our customers and the impact of their films is our priority! After that, success for us looks like making time for a number of passionate charity projects in Cornwall that give back to nature and the community.
