M&S ‘discontinues’ essential baby and tells parents ‘sorry’

Marks and Spencer has ditched a baby essential, leaving customers and shoppers completely gutted. M&S has decided to pull a baby essential from stores up and down the country – leaving mums and dads everywhere devastated.

M&S has ditched a baby essential that shoppers say is ‘better than name brands’. Parents have been clearing M&S shelves of own-brand nappies – and the high street giant, which has stores across the country, says they won’t be going back.

The Extreme Couponing and Bargains Facebook group in the UK has seen stories from shoppers flocking to stock up. M&S confirmed on social media: “Our Little Smiles nappies have been discontinued due to us offering a range of branded nappies.

“We’re out of stock right now, sorry.” In response, one buyer said: “Too bad they were better than the brand name ones for our little boy.” Another added: “They are the only ones that work well for my daughter so I was disappointed to see them replaced by Pampers.”

M&S launched its own-brand nappy range in 2021. M&S said: “We are constantly reviewing, improving and refreshing the ranges in Foodhall to ensure we are always giving customers exactly what they need.

“By partnering with the UK’s best-loved baby brands, we now offer families a wider range of choice, such as larger nappy and pant sizes, along with bigger packs in our larger stores.” On its website it says: “Keep your little one smiling with our new nappy range. All our Little Smiles nappies – there are six sizes in the range – are tried, tested and approved by the Mother & Baby Club.

“They are ultra-absorbent thanks to smart, fast-absorbing channel technology, yet still soft, super comfortable and flexible to protect your baby’s delicate skin. Sizes 1 and 2 also come with humidity indicators to help you know when it is. it might be time for a change.”
