A popular beach near Bristol has been named as one of the most disappointing in Britain. Weston-super-Mare beach ranks third in the country for unattractiveness, according to TripAdvisor reviews.

As Brits plan their summer seaside trips, they’ll be keen to know which spots to steer clear of. Using TripAdvisor reviews, Preply identified the top 10 beaches that failed to impress some visitors.




The team compiled a list of the top 20 most popular and famous beaches in the UK, analyzing them based on the number of 1, 2 and 3 star reviews, to reveal the ones that could leave holidaymakers feeling disappointed .

With almost a quarter of TripAdvisor reviews expressing dissatisfaction, Weston-super-Mare Beach is the third most disappointing in the UK. It is behind North Shore Beach (29 per cent) in Llandudno and Morecambe Beach (25 per cent) in Lancashire.

Despite its picturesque setting, many visitors felt let down by the additional costs incurred during their visit. Complaints included pay toilets, a wharf entrance fee and high parking fees.

Here are the top 10 most disappointing beaches in the UK, along with the percentage of disappointing reviews on TripAdvisor.
