Design patents for three upcoming electric bikes from Ola Electric have surfaced online. These patent images gave us a detailed look at what the production version of the electric bikes could look like.

The first bike seen in the design patents looks nothing like the concept bikes presented by the EV manufacturer at the annual Ola Customer Day held last year. It will probably be the most affordable bike and the first to be launched by Ola Electric. It has a hub-mounted motor, telescopic fork, dual shocks, and the alloy wheel design is something quite common on most 100-110cc commuter bikes. Performance is expected to be similar to that of a 125cc bike and will rival the Revolt RV400. It has an easy-to-reach one-piece handlebar and the riding position is expected to be upright. Other details noticed are LED lighting, front disc and rear drum brake setup and the instrument console is expected to be a TFT unit with navigation. They’re getting skinny tires, usually seen on commuter bikes, which should again help improve range. The bike could have a range of around 200 km, considering the Ola S1 Pro has a claimed range of 195 km.

The second bike in the design patents looks more like the Ola Roadster concept shown last year. It gets more premium looking alloy wheels and fatter tires compared to the first bike. The performance will likely be similar to that of a 160cc bike and will rival the Tork Kratos R. Similar details to the roadster concept bike shown earlier include the slim design of the headlights and the overall sharp design language. The frame looks like a double unit and the motor is mounted on the frame along with a chain or belt drive.

The third bike looks like a sportier version of the second bike. The differences from the second bike are an extra bottom cover, slightly different looking panels and clip-on handlebars (the second bike gets a one-piece handlebar). Both bikes get a 4-way directional shifter.

All three bikes are expected to be unveiled by the end of 2024 and launched in mid-2025. The affordable commuter electric bikes are likely to be priced around Rs 1.4 lakh, the second and third bikes are likely to get price tags of around Rs 1.7 lakh and Rs 1.8 lakh (all ex-showroom).
