Four men jailed for million pound cannabis plant

FOUR MEN have been jailed after they turned an industrial unit into a cannabis factory in Exhall.

Officers found more than 1,800 plants worth more than £1 million after raiding the Crondall Road facility.

Dien Phan, 47, of no fixed address, believed to be the ringleader, was jailed for four years and two months after pleading guilty to producing cannabis.

Suu Lo, 51, Tan Tran, 23, and Son Hoang, 32, all of no fixed address, were all jailed for two years and eight months after being found guilty of producing cannabis.

Police raided the facility last October and found it had been converted into 17 different rooms, each containing cannabis.

The unit also had a bed area and a makeshift kitchen where they probably lived.

Phan and Lo were both arrested at the scene, and Tran and Hoang were found hiding in a partition wall.

Detective Constable Matt Rapkins of Warwickshire Police’s Serious and Organized Crime Unit said: “I am extremely pleased to be taking this large amount of cannabis off the streets.

“This was a joint effort between officers from the Rugby Serious and Organized Crime Team and the Nuneaton and Bedworth Safer Neighborhood Team.

“Some people might think of cannabis as a minor problem.

“The people at the heart of these cannabis farms are still making a lot of money by exploiting vulnerable people, who then fund organized crime.

“This will be hugely disruptive to the criminals involved in the cultivation of cannabis. We at Rugby SOAC are committed to fighting organized crime.”
