Luke Littler booed again as another Premier League crowd turns on the darts star

It was a huge win for Humphries, who is a Leeds United fan and debuted new music at the event, moving from DNCE’s ‘Cake by the Ocean’ to Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘I Predict a Riot’.

“When I came in here I felt a bit of pressure, I can’t lie,” Humphries told Sky Sports. “I knew (the pressure) was on me. This was a dream for me tonight to play in front of a crowd that I don’t get to do very often.

“Tonight was amazing. To go on to win was one of my greatest experiences in darts. The crowd was fantastic. This is what dreams are made of. I played really well tonight but that’s how you peaked on the night 17 – being the Premier League Champion is something that would mean a lot to me.”

In the process, Humphries, Littler and Van Gerwen officially booked their play-off places. Littler currently leads the table with 38 points, closely followed by Humphries and Van Gerwen.

Nathan Aspinall and Michael Smith will now battle it out for the final spot on the night of the 16th in Sheffield, with the pair drawn against each other in their first match of the night. As a result, whoever wins that match will qualify for the play-offs.
