Luke Littler was booed on night 15 of the Premier League Darts with the Manchester United fan playing to the Leeds crowd.

Littler was previously booed when the Premier League visited Liverpool last month, given the rivalry between the two sides, and the teenager cheekily referenced the Reds’ Merseyside derby defeat during one of those days.

He eventually won the night, beating Rob Cross in the final and received a similar reception from the Leeds fans as they also have a long-standing rivalry with the Red Devils. Littler was again booed during his walk, but took the reaction in his stride.

However, after starting strongly by beating Peter Wright 6-1, Littler was then beaten 6-1 in the semi-finals by three-time world champion Michael van Gerwen. Reigning world champion Luke Humphries defeated Van Gerwen 6-5 in the final to win the night.

It was a huge win for Humphries, who is a Leeds United fan and debuted new music at the event, moving from DNCE’s ‘Cake by the Ocean’ to Leeds band Kaiser Chiefs’ ‘I Predict a Riot’.

“When I came in here I felt a bit of pressure, I can’t lie,” Humphries told Sky Sports. “I knew (the pressure) was on me. This was a dream for me tonight to play in front of a crowd that I don’t get to do very often.

“Tonight was amazing. To go on to win was one of my greatest experiences in darts. The crowd was fantastic. This is what dreams are made of. I played really well tonight but that’s how you peaked on the night 17 – being the Premier League Champion is something that would mean a lot to me.”

In the process, Humphries, Littler and Van Gerwen officially booked their play-off places. Littler currently leads the table with 38 points, closely followed by Humphries and Van Gerwen.
