Live: M5 delayed as medical emergency causes long queues

Part of the M5 in Bristol has been closed following reports of a medical emergency on the motorway. Delays are increasing northbound after the incident was reported at around 10am today, Friday 10 May.


The northbound exit has been closed at junction 17 for Cribbs Causeway. According to the National Highways, heavy congestion has formed between junctions 16 and 18A and further delays are expected until the morning. Traffic between nodes 18A and 17 is very slow.



Inrix traffic monitor reports: “M5 northbound exit closed, traffic queued due to medical emergency at J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway).”

The delays are starting to mount

Inrix reports: “M5 northbound exit closed, traffic backed up due to medical emergency at J17 A4018 (Cribbs Causeway). Travel time is about 15 minutes.”
