David Beckham reveals Tom Brady’s message after Birmingham City investor’s ‘hard to watch’ roast

David Beckham has reached out to Birmingham City investor Tom Brady after he was ‘roasted’ on Netflix at the weekend.

Brady was nowhere to be seen as the Blues were relegated from the Championship on Saturday. The 46-year-old seven-time Super Bowl champion was instead preparing to be torn apart by comedians and Netflix celebrities.

Even Brady’s former head coach with the New England Patriots, Bill Belichick, chimed in and poked fun at his association with the Blues. “I see your Birmingham City football team has been taken down to another level in the English Football League,” Belichick said.

“For those unfamiliar with English football and the intricacies of the obscure relegation system, let me say, I’ll put it in English for you – I’m miserable. Isn’t it so easy to lead a team, Tom?

Other jokes were more personal and former British footballer Beckham, now president of MLS franchise Inter Miami, has since checked on Brady. “The whole concept is quite funny. It was very funny. But I know Tom well and I have to admit I texted him just to check if he was OK,” Beckham said. “It’s more than OK, but yeah, it was hard to watch.”

Brady visited Birmingham to watch two Championship games last season. He enjoyed a 1-0 win over Leeds United in August, just days after his involvement was announced by Blues’ patrons Knighthead, and also held Rotherham United to a 0-0 draw. in December.
