Piran Ditta Khan condemns live court updates after PC Sharon Beshenivsky’s murder

In the first of two statements, Paul Beshenivsky said Sharon “loved being a police officer” and was taken to Huddersfield Royal Infirmary where he was told she had been shot and killed.

He said: “It took me six or seven hours to figure out what I was going to tell (the kids). We just moved house and we haven’t even had time to unpack the boxes… It seems like we don’t have any closure, even now, because I have to raise the children without a mother… Now I have the role of being and mom and dad… There will always be a huge gap in all of our lives without Sharon. Sharon is irreplaceable in our lives. He was a very special person and things will never be the same.”

A statement from March this year said: “How can I ever put into words the impact that losing Sharon has had on me and our family? The way we lost Sharon was most brutal and uncaring. He was supposed to come home at the end of the year. her makeover to celebrate our daughter’s fourth birthday. He never came home because of Piran Ditta Khan’s actions.

“If Piran Ditta Khan had not organized the robbery, Sharon would not have been shot. She was doing her duty as a police officer, a job she loved to do and we are all very proud of her. The pain and hurt we have. Everything we suffered is unimaginable, but we all had to try to carry on.

“Sharon’s death was very public… It affected us in different ways. Going through the various trials was like losing Sharon all over again. The day of November 18 is inscribed in our memories…

“I hope now that this is the closing chapter and justice is done… I will never forget Sharon. She was a big part of my life, the mother of my younger children and will live on through them.”
