A loving dad who died in a car crash in St Ives was on holiday with his wife celebrating their 50th wedding anniversary at the time of the collision. Tributes have been paid to David Clark, 83, who died in hospital after a collision with a BMW on April 30.

The emergency services went to the scene of the accident after being informed that two pedestrians had been hit by a car. Devon and Cornwall Police confirmed on Wednesday that a man died at Derriford Hospital in Plymouth, while a woman remained seriously injured in hospital.

In a heartbreaking tribute, David’s family said he and his wife Daphne had been on holiday together in St Ives, celebrating her retirement and their recent 50th wedding anniversary together.
